Bio
Mini-Tonic is the creation of Eleanor Long and Trevor Young. They met at art college many moons ago and both went their separate ways…
Eleanor gaining an MA at the Royal College of Art went on to create glass sculptures embedded in some of the most familiar areas of London including the Royal Geographic Society and Regent Street. She also worked as a model-maker for iconic films and TV shows.
Trevor worked his way up the ladder in the digital visual effects, from office runner to eventually leading teams on big budget movies such as the Harry Potter films and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
(odd fact: Eleanor was creating giant tins of peas for The Borrowers (John Goodman, Jim Broadbent) at the same time Trevor was working in the visual effects team. Only Eleanor got a credit).
They came together in 2018 to create Tapocketa and their first venture, Galdo’s Gift: The Boovie®, an animated digital book for children that pushed the boundaries of ebook technology. It went on to win a multitude of awards including four (including Best Book) at the prestigious Digital Book World Awards in the US, where they were asked to speak to the thousand attendees.
Fresh from the success of their Boovie, they secured innovation funding from Creative Enterprise to research and develop The Locksmith, a story of folklore and mystery set in a old smuggling town. Utilising immersive technology, they are once again pushing at the boundaries of the way stories are told.
